Frequently
Asked Questions

We are here to assist you with any inquiries regarding our services and solutions.

How do I know if I need therapy or an evaluation?

You don’t need to determine this on your own. Some individuals benefit from starting with therapy, especially for anxiety, mood concerns, or emotional regulation. Others may benefit from a formal psychological evaluation if diagnostic clarity or documentation is needed. During your initial conversation with our team, we will help guide you toward the most appropriate starting point.

Do I need testing before starting therapy?

No. Many clients begin with therapy without undergoing formal testing. If assessment becomes clinically appropriate later, we will discuss the reasons and options with you.

What concerns do you treat?

We work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing:

  • Anxiety and excessive worry
  • Mood changes or depression
  • ADHD and executive functioning challenges
  • Emotional dysregulation
  • Social difficulties
  • Academic concerns
  • Life transitions and stress

We also provide comprehensive psychological evaluations when diagnostic clarification is needed.

Do you prescribe medication?

We do not provide psychiatric medication management. Our focus is psychotherapy and psychological assessment. When medication consultation is appropriate, we collaborate with primary care providers or psychiatrists to ensure coordinated care.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes. We offer secure virtual therapy sessions when clinically appropriate. Certain assessment services may require in-person visits depending on the type of testing involved.

How long does therapy last?

The length of therapy varies based on individual goals and complexity of concerns. Some clients benefit from short-term, structured skill-building. Others prefer longer-term support. Treatment plans are reviewed periodically to ensure progress.

How long does a psychological evaluation take?

The evaluation process varies depending on the referral question. It typically includes a clinical interview, testing sessions, and a feedback appointment. You will receive a comprehensive written report with findings and recommendations.

Will you communicate with my child’s school or my physician?

With your written consent, we can coordinate care with schools, pediatricians, primary care providers, or other professionals involved in treatment.

What ages do you work with?

We serve children, adolescents, and adults.
